I am officially an idiot. Broke my tailbone several weeks ago but didn’t let that stop me from walking/jogging last weekend with my pup in tow. Felt oh, so proud of myself to be running a little at my age! (58) Well, tailbone is still sore but healing. However, left knee is aching, swollen and stiff to bend. I don’t think I should have tried the running after a 25 yr hiatus. 😳 I will say that riding on the back of hubby’s motorcycle yesterday may not have helped either.

Thanks everyone! It was all worth it, but I may revise the “old lady takes up jogging” plan. 😏 The pup has me walking now, which is great for a former mostly sedentary gal!

I shattered mine back in elementary school and had to sit on a donut. Took 6 weeks before I could walk easy. amazing you could do that so quickly. Mine never really grew back so at least I don't have to working about it happening again lol.

@abyssoft - It has been about three weeks and hubby finally bought me a “Whoopi cushion” thingy to sit on at work this past week because in general sitting hurts! So does lying down. Standing was great til I pretended I was a 🏃‍♀️! We had to cut the motorcycle ride short because the bumps were 😳

Perhaps ease in to your plan...age is only a mind set!! You can do it but you have to train in to it. Try an elliptical or bicycling if running hurts?

@HCB - Good thoughts, friend! I do not admit defeat, but will maybe find ways to increase my strength that don’t sideline me for weeks at a time! I want to “use it before I lose it!”
